ASIAN INSTITUTE OF PRODUCTIVITY & QUALITY MANAGEMENT (AIPQM)

> CERTIFICATE in OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH and the ENVIRONMENT (COSHE)

The COSHE is a 4 months programmeconducted by the Malaysian Association of Productivity (MAP) in collaboration with Asian Institute of Productivity and Quality Management (AIPQM), with the approval of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).

Successful participants will be awarded the Certificate in Occupational Safety, Health Environment by the National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) while the certificate of attendance will be awarded by AIPQM.

OBJECTIVE
This programme is designed to meet the significants of the individual, company and the country’s needs in line with the provisions under:

  • Occupational Safety Health Act 1994 (Act 514)
  • Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (Act 316)
  • Environmental Quality Act 1974 (Act 127)

It provides an opportunity for participants to discover the importance of ensuring a ‘safe working environment’.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

  • Acquired practical understanding in the development of a proper safety management system.
  • An ability to analyze present systems, needs and identify hazards; and most importantly
  • Gain practical exposure, knowledge and know-how in performing the task as a Safety, Health & Environment Representative effectively.

  • Those handling machines/dangerous goods

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Custom designed and cost effective programme developed in line with government policies.
  • Competency based with focus on application at worksite.
  • Curriculum comprises of 4 updated NIOSH syllabus (see below), revisions and personal tutoring.
  • Notes , text books and course file containing all relevant information to the course (examination procedures, admin course information, class dates, etc.) is given at the launch of the class.
  • All faculty members are academically qualified with at least 10 years practical industrial working experience and are approved by DOSH.
  • We have a proven track record of graduates with excellent results and high pass rates.
  • We provide the latest development in safety, health and environment.
  • Classes are held on weekends (Saturday &/or Sunday).
  • The various venues classes are held at are
    Petaling Jaya, Penang, Kota Bahru, Kuantan, Johor Bahru, Melaka (ALAM),
    Sibu, Miri, Bintulu, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Batu Pahat & Pontian.
    NOTE: for Corporate Clients (in-house course) the class venue would be your choice.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS– either one of the following

  • HSC / STPM / A-Level ;
  • MCE / SPM / O-Level


PROGRAMME SESSION
The training will be conducted on weekends from 9.30 a.m.-5.30 p.m.
The whole training sessions will consume approximately 119 hours.

  • 60% of the session comprises of participative classroom lectures and discussions supplemented with video presentations and necessary teaching aids.
  • 35% will be practical exercises including case studies, workshops & presentations, critiques and mock examinations.
  • 5% is allocated for site visits to reputable organizations.

COURSE MODULES

  • Module 1 – Malaysian Safety, Health & Environment Legislations [21 hours]
  • Module 2 – Safety, Health & Environment Management System [28 hours]
  • Module 3 – Occupational Health & Toxicology [28 hours]
  • Module 4 – Occupational Safety [28 hours]
  • Revision on syllabus and workplace assignment

COURSE FEE

CASH PAYMENT
West Malaysia RM 5,000.00

East Malaysia RM 7,000.00

( 2. MAP holds copyrights to all notes given to students. None of its contents can be exhibited, reproduced and/or circulated or distributed without prior written approval from MAP. )
( 3. The contact hours remain the same. The choice to have the classes on Saturday and Sunday depends on majority student requests. )
