MALAYSIAN ASSOCATION OF PRODUCTIVITY PERSATUAN DAYA PENGELUARAN MALAYSIA

CONSTITUTION
(Inclusive of Amendment Up To 08/04/1999)

NAME & ADDRESS

1. Malaysian Association of Productivity registered place of business shall be 412B, Jalan 5/132, Gasing Indah, 46000 Petaling Jaya, Selangor and its postal address will be the same as above. The registered place of business of the society shall not be changed without the prior approval of the Registrar of Society.

INTERPRETATION

2. (1) In these Rules unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context or it is otherwise stated:

i. “Association” means the “Malaysian Association of Productivity”

ii. “Registrar” means the “Registrar of Societies Malaysia”

iii. “Member” means “any member of the Malaysian Association of Productivity”

iv. Wherever the name appear as “National Productivity Centre” it should read as “National Productivity Corporation”

(2) The Management Committee shall have power to decide all questions relating to the interpretation of the Rules of the Association and not provided for in these Rules shall be final and binding on members

OBJECTIVES

3. The objectives of the Association shall be:

(1) To support and promote the objectives and activities of the National Productivity Corporation as established by Act of Parliament No: 19 (1966) or any amendments thereof; (See Appendix).

(2) To do all or any of the following things, in the implementation of the objectives contained under para 3(1) above:

a) conduct training courses as planned;

b) recommend the planning of training courses for the National Productivity Corporation;

c) hold meetings, conferences and seminars;

d) provide information for the publications of the National Productivity Corporation;

e) organize and conduct study, visits and tours locally and overseas;


MEMBERSHIP

4. The membership of the Association shall comprise:

(1) a) Ordinary Member who shall be any person who have successfully completed at least one certified course of the National Productivity Corporations or the Malaysian Association of Productivity; not withstanding the above the Management Committee may at its discretion take into consideration such factors as experience, qualifications and position of the applicant for admission as an Ordinary Member.

b) Life Member shall be any person entitled to become an Ordinary Member and paying the Prescribed fees as stipulated under Clause 7(5).

(2) Organisation Member which shall be any organization engaged in commerce and industry either public or private and any organizations which support the objectives of the Association.

(3) a) Affiliate Member who shall be any person above the age of 18 and who support the objectives of the Association. An Affiliate Member may apply to become an Ordinary Member after having qualified to become one, and having been accepted shall become an Ordinary Member without paying the necessary entrance fee. The Management Committee may approve his membership to the Ordinary Member if he has been the Affiliate Member for more than a year and also to take into consideration of such factors as his age, qualifications and position.

b) Student Member shall be any person above the age of 18 and is currently attending a course organized by the Malaysian Association of Productivity or its subsidiaries and posses clean track record while attending the course will be eligible to apply for student membership. They shall have no voting rights or right to hold any position in the Association. Student Members who have completed the full course and had continuously remain a member for 18 months will be eligible to apply to become an Affiliate or Ordinary Member as stated in New Clause 1 (a) or 3 (a).

(4) Honorary Member shall be conferred by the Association on any person who has rendered distinguished service to the Association and/or the Nation.

(5) Membership under 4(1)a, 4(1)b, (2) and (3) shall be by application on a prescribed form. Such application shall be considered by the Management Committee who shall have the right to approve or reject such application without assigning any reason therefore.

(6) Membership under 4(4) shall be elected by the Management Committee. A person elected under this category shall remain a member unless otherwise removed for special reason/s with approval of Management Committee.

(7) i) The Management Committee will set up a Fellowship Award Committee
comprising four (4) Ordinary and Life Members at large. The Committee is to be Chaired by a MAP Patron. The Fellowship Award Committee is empowered to confer Fellowship upon any Ordinary or Life Member who has achieved eminence in the practice of Productivity training or has distinguished himself by contributing to the body of knowledge relating to productivity.

ii) The number of Fellows to be conferred is one (1) Fellowship for every one hundred (100) members.

FEES & SUBSCRIPTIONS

7. The entrance fees and annual subscriptions shall be:

(1) Entrance fee all categories RM 10.00

(2) Ordinary Member RM 50.00

(3) Organisation Member

• with 25 employees or less RM 100.00
• 26 – 50 employees RM 200.00
• 51 – 100 employees RM 300.00
• 101 employees & above RM 500.00

(4) Affiliate Member RM 25.00

(5) Honorary Member NIL

(6) Life Member RM 1,000.00
